My knives are forged in my home shop using quality, high-carbon steel and the best handle material available. This Black Mountain Knife Maker does everything "In House" except make the raw steel, laser etch the logo, and stabilize the wood for handles. We cut and grind the profile, heat treat, quench, apply a cryogenic extension of the quench, temper, grind bevels, make the handle, and apply the finish.

Most of my woods are gathered here in the mountains of North Georgia. I personally cut and stabilize all the woods that I use. There is no effort or intent to replicate or match colors. The standard size is 2"x5"x1" (+ or -). Your wood can also be cut into scales at no extra charge. Our Stabilized woods can be supplied natural or in a wide variety of colors. Also I do have some none stabilized woods for sale that include Desert Ironwood, Cocobola, and Bocote.
After that I start making knives full time in my moms garage. I worked full time for 5 years until I was hired at The New England School of Metalwork, where I help run the blacksmith shop, and teach classes. I have used the knife on Striped Bass, Fluke, Porgy and even Yellowfin and I must say it is by far the best and sharpest knife I have ever used. The blade easily goes through custom knives and art knives tough tuna skin with little effort. It’s so sharp that while cutting steaks out of a Striper fillet, I actually cut into the stoneware leaving visible cut lines.
