Alison has over 20 years of teaching and SENCo experience across both junior and senior schools. They may cover costs of travelling to work if you cannot use public transport, fund adaptations to your vehicle to get to work, and make physical changes to your workplace. As a manager, you can ensure meetings accommodate diverse needs by adopting a number of strategies. You could provide agendas in advance, allow for written contributions, and use visual aids to ensure clear communication. For those who find group settings challenging, consider alternative formats such as one-on-one discussions, audio-only calls, or written exchanges. Create a space where the team can discuss everyone’s strengths and working preferences, to better accommodate one another and improve collaboration.
Following that your lead professional will write a full report, with outcomes. This report will be sent to you with full list of recommendations that may be helpful for educators or employers or yourself and your family. The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS 2 ; face to face assessment), which is observed and double scored for reliability purposes. The ADOS-2 is carried out with the child / person and involves talking and playing games. The assessment is typically carried out by a Clinical Psychologist and other professional specialised in ADOS 2 or ADI-r or 3di assessments.

In the past two decades, my clinical emphasis has centred on identifying adults with autism, with a special emphasis on women with autism. For children and young people Occupational Health Solutions who are not attending school, we will consider referrals made jointly by the family and another health/education/social care professional. Navigating university life can be challenging, especially for individuals with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This is why we have a range of dedicated support services to ensure that students with ASC feel comfortable, empowered, and have equal opportunities to succeed. We know radical change is needed in this sector and we are working with the NHS and services to improve long-term support for neurodivergent children, adults and their families.

The resources are aimed at increasing the knowledge, skills, and understanding of neurodivergence for young people and adult health and social care professionals. At AP Cymru, we are proud that our charity provides a direct support service to neurodivergent children, young people, and their families before, during and after diagnosis.
